Handshake halving explained
The first halving is scheduled for April 29, 2023 (approximately). Handshake’s initial block reward is 2,000 HNS. For this upcoming Handshake block reward halving, the total number of Handshake mined by miners per block will be reduced from 2,000 HNS to 1,000 HNS. The Handshake reward halves every 170,000 blocks or it happens approximately every 3.23 years. HNS block time is 10 min. Annual Handshake inflation is reduced significantly.
How many Handshake will ever be created?
2,040,000,000 HNS, will be issued. The inventor stipulated 2 billion and 40 million Handshakes limit to control the supply and therefore future price fluctuations.
When will be the last Handshake mined?
Based on the Handshake code, all HNS will be mined and in circulation by 2119 at block number 5,270,000, which leaves significant time ahead for global adoption and gradual growth of the network.
